 Course scheduling
* R8 Bridge/Upgrade Courses may not be requested to begin any earlier than 06/26/2008 * No more than six courses will be scheduled over any weekend * Recertification Courses may not be requested to begin any earlier than 8/1/2008. * Note that for R9 Entry Level Courses a minimum of 20 people must be registered with the GSSA office two (2) weeks prior to the course date or the course will be canceled. In areas 50 miles outside of Atlanta and the R8 Bridge/Upgrade, the minimum is 15 people. Suggestion: If you would like to host a course but feel you may have difficulty registering 20 people from your league, find out if there is an interested neighboring league and jointly host the referee courses. * The league must arrange for a proper facility and local coordinator for the course. * Dates will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Some course dates might be changed if more that six (6) courses are planned for the same date or more than one course is planned for the same area. * Entry and Bridge courses will be given over one (1) weeknight and one (1) weekend day for a total of nine (9) hours of instruction. The class hours are usually three (3) hours on weeknight and six (6) hours on the weekend. * The recommended class hours in the Atlanta metro area three (3) hours on Thursday night, six (6) hours on Saturday. (Friday night - Saturday classes are necessary in areas outside the metro area, because instructors often must travel overnight to complete them.) Recertification courses are five (5) hours and are usually scheduled on Sunday.
Facility Requirements
* The classroom facilities must comfortably seat the people registered, plus the course coordinator and two (2) instructors. There should be tables or have a surface on which to write for the students. * There must be a projector screen or suitable wall for projecting an computer-generated image.Preferred additional equipment includes and a blackboard or easel. * A field is required for the 3-hour field exercise.
